About KC ORTIZ

KC Ortiz was born in Chicago in 1978.  He is a freelance photojournalist based in Bangkok, Thailand.  His work focuses on under reported issues and conflicts and their consequences. 

KC's work has appeared in publications such as A-magsinet, Global Post, The Independent, The Irrawaddy, Juxtapoz, Newsweek, The New York Times, Time, and others.

KC's images have been exhibited at a number of spaces such as The Frontline Club, The Newseum, The Station Museum of Contemporary Art, Known Gallery, Guerrero Gallery, and many others.  

His work on the Hmong and the Secret War in Laos earned him a first place award in the Pictures of the Year International feature category.

KC is available for assignments world wide.
